Fall updates in the studio

Quit a bit happening this time of the year in the studio.   Getting prints prepared, originals finished.
I've had some fun with a new side project.  It's one of those things that pleases the spirit more than
any thing else.  I can share that in a bit.

Firstly, I'm finally back to working on the wolf pup. In the fore ground I've added the leaves of 
a flowering plant.  I've much to do to finish these detailed bits.  But, I think I have a good start
as it is.

I've had a few requests for a small Giclee on canvas print.  I've discovered I'm out of them so it's another call to the printer for those.   Apparently, I'm out of several small canvas editions at this time.    

The little Saw Whet Owl is titled: "Fierce Abbreviated".   This image is a 5" x 5" on canvas.

The Chipmonk is titled:  "Chip N Dip".  This image is a 5" x 7" canvas print.

I have a new website in the works as well.  If it sounds like someone who could use an assistant
at this point I'd say, "Yes I do!!!"   

The new website is www.brendajohnsonart.com.  It should be open and ready for viewing before too long.  I'll post a special announcement once it's complete and ready to view.

Wolf Pup WIP ...

Here I've added more final touches to the wolf pup.  More will be added as I move along through the painting.   A nice boulder adds some texture to the piece.  The foreground and background will be drawn out at this stage adding more dimension and depth.

Wolverine, "On the easel..... "

Currently on the easel a beautiful Wolverine.  At this stage I'm well passed the base coat and now pressing on with the fine details of the branches ( I will be adding more to the right side).   I've included a few detail brushes by Dynasty that I have enjoyed trying out.  Black Gold 10/0 which I'm particularly fond of for the REALLY fine hairs on the animal, 2/0 and a #3 for the larger areas.


Once this painting is finalized, a print will be available for the June fundraiser at The Anchorage Zoo.
The subject here is a Jenny who resided at the Zoo for many years.  I understand she passed away.
RIP Jenny.  She was indeed a beautiful animal and I'm sure was a lovely source of education for years.
